Download Millennial Workforce: Cracking the Code to Generation Y In Your Company in PDF Full Online by Javier Montes and published by Lulu Press, Inc. This book was released on 2017-02-02 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you look up “communication gap” in the dictionary, it may as well have a picture of a baby boomer trying to talk to a millennial. These younger workers born from 1980 to 2000 are the largest population in the United States, and they make up a huge portion of the workforce. But all too often, older workers view millennials as entitled or unmotivated. Javier Montes puts those notions to rest in this guide to leveraging the talents of millennials to achieve business objectives. By investing time and effort into training and developing millennials, he’s built multiple companies while learning new things along the way. After reading this book, you’ll be equipped to: improve the way you attract, manage, and retain millennials; use technology to make business processes more efficient; thrive in a world built around instant gratification; and reward younger workers with what they value most.

Download On Law and Reason in PDF Full Online by Aleksander Peczenik and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2014-01-12 with total page 443 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'This is an outline of a coherence theory of law. Its basic ideas are: reasonable support and weighing of reasons. All the rest is commentary.’ These words at the beginning of the preface of this book perfectly indicate what On Law and Reason is about. It is a theory about the nature of the law which emphasises the role of reason in the law and which refuses to limit the role of reason to the application of deductive logic. In 1989, when the first edition of On Law and Reason appeared, this book was ground breaking for several reasons. It provided a rationalistic theory of the law in the language of analytic philosophy and based on a thorough understanding of the results, including technical ones, of analytic philosophy. That was not an obvious combination at the time of the book’s first appearance and still is not. The result is an analytical rigor that is usually associated with positivist theories of the law, combined with a philosophical position that is not natural law in a strict sense, but which shares with it the emphasis on the role of reason in determining what the law is. If only for this rare combination, On Law and Reason still deserves careful study. On Law and Reason also foreshadowed and influenced a development in the field of Legal Logic that would take place in the nineties of the 20th century, namely the development of non-monotonic (‘defeasible’) logics for the analysis of legal reasoning. In the new Introduction to this second edition, this aspect is explored in some more detail.
Download Space-Time, Relativity, and Cosmology in PDF Full Online by Jose Wudka and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2006-07-20 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Space-Time, Relativity, and Cosmology provides a historical introduction to modern relativistic cosmology and traces its historical roots and evolution from antiquity to Einstein. The topics are presented in a non-mathematical manner, with the emphasis on the ideas that underlie each theory rather than their detailed quantitative consequences. A significant part of the book focuses on the Special and General theories of relativity. The tests and experimental evidence supporting the theories are explained together with their predictions and their confirmation. Other topics include a discussion of modern relativistic cosmology, the consequences of Hubble's observations leading to the Big Bang hypothesis, and an overview of the most exciting research topics in relativistic cosmology. This textbook is intended for introductory undergraduate courses on the foundations of modern physics. It is also accessible to advanced high school students, as well as non-science majors who are concerned with science issues.

Download Religion and the Natural Sciences in PDF Full Online by James E. Huchingson and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2005-02-07 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first half of 'Religion and the Natural Sciences' is an introduction to the discussion of science and religion. Here the reader learns why there is any debate at all and what resources exist for responding to it. The second half deals with specific issues that arise in the individual sciences, from astronomy and physics to biology and ecology. Any project hoping to connect science and religion must supply the categories of connection, which are found primarily, although not exclusively, in philosophy. The simplicity of the arrangement and the nature of the selections are intended to make 'Religion and the Natural Sciences' available to as wide an audience as possible, including students from the sciences and technology, the professions, the humanities and liberal studies, and theology.
